By transforming the Orangery of Grenoble into a space of care by plants around a garden, we contribute to reconcile nature and urban environments. Despite its location, the project invites plants to be an integral part of the architecture by letting them enter into the building. The garden is the most important element of the place. It brings back plants to a privileged position by encouraging contacts between humans and nature, which is, today, too limited. This link is emphasized by the openings of the building on the exterior by erasing boundaries between inside and outside, as well as the architectural language of parks, brought by the three follies. The latter are realized with simple forms and lines. They are turned toward the green space. This way, the follies fade in favor of the garden, becoming a special place for the contemplation of plants.
My dearest wish for this diploma project is to transform this magical place which is the Orangery of Grenoble, into a space of symbiosis between humans and plants.
